This document has not been adopted as final policy. Operator identity, designated privacy contact, provider arrangements and retention decisions require confirmation. Registration does not record acceptance of this draft.
1. About MBList and these terms
MBList provides local business discovery, business profiles, community articles, events and offers in the Canadian areas we serve, where those features and information are available. MBList is Canadian owned, operated, and hosted. A business appearing in the directory is a separate organisation from MBList and remains responsible for its own products, services and dealings with you.
This review draft does not establish a contract with an unidentified legal entity. The legal operator and its business contact details must be confirmed before these terms are adopted. The developer credit identifies the developer only; it does not identify the contracting organisation.
When an adopted version is presented for acceptance during account registration, your affirmative acceptance applies to that version. Feature-specific confirmations, including business authority, pricing accuracy and Blog Posting Guidelines acceptance, remain separate. Browsing a page does not enrol you in marketing or authorise unrelated uses of your personal information.
2. Accounts and authorised business representatives
Provide accurate account information and keep your email address current. Use only an account you are entitled to access. Do not impersonate another person or organisation, share credentials in a way that allows unauthorised access, or misrepresent your authority to manage a business.
Keep your credentials secure, sign out on shared devices and contact MBList promptly if you suspect account misuse. Business management access depends on approved claims and the role assigned to your account. An account or an imported listing alone does not establish ownership or management permission.
MBList is intended for local discovery and community participation. The current registration flow does not impose a specified minimum age; an account eligibility policy remains a decision for the operator before final adoption. Do not provide another person’s information without the necessary authority.
3. Business listings and claims
You may add a business, claim an existing listing or request access to an already claimed business through the available forms. We collect representative details and may ask for verification evidence. New listing and claim information is staged for staff review before approval; approved representatives may manage a listing according to their role. Some edits to a verified listing appear immediately, while significant changes are notified to the team for checking.
Approval of a claim gives management access within MBList. It is not government approval, professional certification, a guarantee of quality or endorsement by MBList. Representatives remain responsible for accurate names, addresses, contact details, qualifications, service areas, hours and descriptions, and for the services their business provides.
Listings may also originate from configured public-source and data-provider imports, including business licence records and source websites. Such information may be incomplete or outdated. Public availability does not remove privacy or intellectual property obligations. Contact MBList with the listing link and the correction or removal you request; requests are assessed rather than treated as proof of ownership.
4. Articles, reviews, images, events and offers
Submit relevant, lawful and accurate content that you own or have permission to use. Obtain permission before publishing identifiable people, private communications or sensitive information. Do not upload confidential documents as public listing photographs or article images.
Business articles must relate to a business you are approved to manage and follow the Blog Posting Guidelines. Submission creates a pending review record, not a public article. Authorised staff may approve, request changes, reject or remove articles and provide feedback. Published articles are locked: an author must confirm that the article will be hidden before editing and submit it for review again. Drafts and unapproved revisions are not public.
Reviews should describe a real experience. Fabricated reviews, undisclosed conflicts of interest, harassment and attempts to manipulate ratings are prohibited. Reviews can appear after submission and remain subject to reports and staff moderation; a negative opinion alone is not grounds for removal. You may edit or delete your own review. Business replies must remain factual and respectful.
Deals are submitted by approved business managers, include pricing-accuracy confirmation and follow the implemented review rules; unusual discounts may await staff review. Event information is currently imported from Ticketmaster rather than submitted through a customer event-publishing form. Neither a listing nor an event or deal page guarantees that every item has been independently verified.
5. Permission to display submitted content
You retain ownership of your original material. By submitting material for an operational feature, you give MBList a nonexclusive permission to store, reproduce, format, display and distribute it as needed to provide that feature, including display on public pages and delivery through necessary service providers. This permission does not transfer ownership or authorise unrelated exploitation of your material.
You must have the rights needed for that use. Necessary formatting may include image resizing, safe text formatting and excerpts. Attribution and the visibility rules of the feature continue to apply.
Removal ends ongoing public display where MBList controls it, subject to lawful retention and the feature’s deletion rules. Operational records, reports and backup copies may remain for legitimate purposes. Copies previously viewed, indexed or cached by other services are outside MBList’s direct control; we cannot guarantee immediate disappearance from those services.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use MBList for threats, hate, harassment, bullying, scams, impersonation, malicious uploads, credential theft, privacy violations, intellectual property infringement, unlawful goods or activities, spam or misleading promotions. Do not submit unsupported allegations about customers, competitors, employees or other people.
Do not disrupt the platform, defeat access restrictions, manipulate claims, ratings or analytics, or use automated requests that damage availability. Unauthorised bulk harvesting of account, representative or review information, and reuse of personal information for unsolicited targeting, are prohibited. Ordinary search engine indexing of publicly available pages in accordance with published crawler instructions is not prohibited by this provision.
Relevant, respectful and factual discussion of issues affecting a business or community may be considered. Automated checks support moderation; they do not establish that content is safe, lawful or correct.
7. Business services, events and deals
Businesses and event organisers set their own prices, service conditions, eligibility, availability, cancellation and refund arrangements. Confirm important information directly with them, especially deadlines, accessibility, qualifications, mandatory fees and cancellation notices.
MBList currently provides discovery and outbound links; it does not operate a cart, checkout, ticket purchase or payment collection flow for these goods, services, events or deals. Transactions and offer redemption take place directly with the business, organiser or external provider. Their terms apply to that transaction.
MBList does not guarantee rankings, leads, sales, attendance, savings or other commercial outcomes. We aim to present useful information, but cannot guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of every third party submission or import.
8. Advertising and paid features
Sponsored placements may be shown and should be identified as sponsored. Paid promotion does not establish quality certification or guarantee rankings, traffic, leads or sales.
The current application has no operational self-service paid package, subscription, recurring billing or payment-processing checkout. Advertising enquiries are handled through Contact MBList. Any separately agreed advertising arrangement should identify the contracting party, price, applicable taxes, placement, duration, cancellation and refund conditions before purchase. These terms do not create an automatic renewal or a no-refund rule.
9. Third party links and maps
Links to business websites, Ticketmaster, source websites and other external services lead to services operated separately from MBList. Their terms and privacy practices apply when you use them. An external link is not an endorsement.
Google Maps and geocoding support map display, address lookup and directions where available. Location information and route suggestions are informational; verify them and use your judgement. MBList does not provide live turn-by-turn navigation or guarantee route safety. Optional video links may load YouTube or Vimeo on article pages; their provider rules apply.
10. Availability and limitations
Information and features may change. Maintenance, provider interruptions, technical faults or security responses may temporarily limit access. We do not promise uninterrupted service or that every listing, image, offer or event is complete and current.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, MBList does not warrant the independent conduct of listed businesses, organisers or external services. Responsibility for a claim depends on the circumstances and applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. No arbitrary monetary liability cap, mandatory arbitration provision or class-action waiver is introduced here.
11. Account restrictions and termination
MBList may restrict submissions or management access, suspend an account, or remove content in response to serious or repeated violations, deceptive claims, security risks or harmful content. Where appropriate, the team should explain the reason and offer a way to seek review. Urgent safety, fraud or security concerns may require action before notice.
Contact MBList if you believe a restriction or moderation decision is mistaken. Review requests are assessed with relevant evidence; requesting review does not guarantee restoration.
Eligible nonstaff accounts can request closure through account settings. The current deletion flow removes the account, profile, saved items and authentication connections; reviews remain without the account link and are displayed as from a former member. Public business listings are reassigned rather than automatically deleted. Claims and management-link records retain submitted contact details while losing the account link; support and audit records may also remain. Articles authored by the deleted account are deleted through their account relationship, while uploaded files may need separate cleanup. Ask separately about removal of a listing, review or retained record.
12. Intellectual property and complaints
MBList’s name, branding, software and page design are distinct from submitted articles, business logos, review text, imported event material and other third party content. Use of the platform does not transfer ownership of those materials.
Report suspected infringement, privacy concerns, inaccurate listings or harmful content through Contact MBList, identifying the affected page and a brief explanation. Provide only information necessary to assess the concern. Reports and staff notes are not published as part of the reported content.
13. Changes, applicable law and contact
An adopted revision will have a fixed version and effective date. Material changes should be communicated appropriately before taking effect, and affirmative acceptance obtained where required. Earlier acceptance records must not be rewritten to imply acceptance of a new version.
The proposed framework is British Columbia and applicable Canadian law, subject to confirmation of the legal operator and Canadian legal review before adoption. Mandatory protections applicable to users elsewhere remain available. This draft does not choose an exclusive court or impose a dispute waiver.
Use Contact MBList for enquiries and review requests. The legal operator’s verified name, business address and direct contact details must be confirmed before this document is treated as final contractual terms.
MBList is Canadian owned, operated, and hosted.
